… The young violinist Maie Bertram performed as a soloist. You won’t be able to hear her for an entry fee of five euros for much longer as she is growing up to be a major talent, who – assuming that there is at least some justice in this world – has a great career ahead of her. There has seldom been as forceful and, at the same time, as clear and lucid a rendition of the first movement of the concerto (by Johannes Brahms). It was real Brahms: at no point was there any self-promoting virtuosic vanity. Maie Bertram masters every technique but does so as a servant of the music. Presenting the work is what matters to her. She herself serves the composer as a medium – and what a medium! She gave expression to both joy and pain while creating unbelievable beauty of such intensity that it hurt at times. She gave a full depth of sound and soul to the wonderful melodies of the adagio, showing herself to be a thoroughbred musician with her virtuoso rendition of the closing movement. It is not easy to describe it all in words; you have to have heard the young violinist…

Hohenloher Zeitung
…The highlight was without doubt the “Carmen Fantasy” for violin and orchestra by Pablo de Sarasate with violinist Maie Bertram. With the competent accompaniment of the orchestra, the young violinist savoured everything the composer had devised in the way of technical challenges. A first class delight…

Lübbecker Tageblatt
… With her northern austerity but brilliant sound Maie Bertram (…) plays such stirring music that the audience became carried away in a sudden burst of applause…

Badische Neueste Nachrichten
… The violinist Maie Bertram (was presented) as a radiant newcomer harmoniously combining genius and charm. She gave a brilliantly forceful and pronounced rendition of Johannes Brahms’ violin concerto, but one in which the delicate, tender and lyrical moments were not lacking either. Freely, as if from the soul, is how this enchanting creature seems to create and experience music, conveying the three movements (…) with her instrument so as to allow them to develop into an emotional sound experience…

Westfalen Blatt
…a top class soloist, with both the dramatic (…) sound and the bewitchingly sweet and charming tones of the pianissimo at her disposal (…) In the manner of a consummate chamber music dialogue (…) she interpreted both the cantabile lines and the energetic (…) motif in the more stirring movements. You often asked yourself which you should marvel at more, the tight sound or the tremendous penetration of the musical score and the appropriate rendition thereof…

Kleine Zeitung
…the excellent violinist Maie Bertram…

…unashamedly good…

“This violinist has a great future ahead of her”.

…A very young, charming and extremely talented violinist, Maie Bertram is master of the music. (…) She rendered the violin concerto in D major, KV 211 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with elegant dexterity. Her competent playing is characterized by self-confidence and energy which endowed every moment with the highest musical quality. This young musician was able to provide a brilliant rendition of the delicate tones, strong emotions and graceful sophistication which are overabundant in this composition. Enthusiastic applause kept calling the young star back onto the stage.
